Les rouennais Sylvain Choinier et Frédéric Jouhannet, membres du collectif des Vibrants Défricheurs, invitent le dessinateur Matthias Lehmann (Actes Sud BD) à travailler autour d'Alan Lomax, folkloriste et ethnomusicologue célèbre pour avoir découvert et enregistré nombre de bluesmen du delta du Mississippi.

Le résultat : une plongée sonore et visuelle dans l'atmosphère de cet état sudiste au milieu du XXème siècle.

Les deux musiciens, toujours juchés sur leurs estrades amplifiées, confrontent leur répertoire à celui des musiciens rencontrés par Alan Lomax. L'union du moderne et de l'ancien au service et en hommage à ces acteurs si déterminants pour la musique du XXème siècle.

 

 

 

 

 

  The members of King Biscuit invite the drawer Matthias Lehmann (Actes Sud BD - French comic strip publishing house) to work around Alan Lomax, folklorist and ethnomusicologist famous for discovering and recording a number of Bluesmen from the Mississippi Delta.

The result is a sound and visual immersed in the atmosphere of this southern state in the middle of the twentieth century.

Both musicians, always perched on their amplified stages, confront their repertoire to that of the musicians that Alan Lomax met. The union of modern and old in the service and honour of these players so crucial to the music of the twentieth century.
