« A VERY BIG LUNCH »
Voici une nouvelle aventure pour le "band of brothers" :
Rencontrer Jim Harrison, ou plutôt ce qu'il a enfanté d'histoires, de personnages et d'images.
Jouer la bande son des films qui bouillonnent dans ses livres.
Car c'est bien la force des images qui nous frappe, leur démesure et leur sensualité.
Et au travers des doutes ou des coups de gueule du romancier, de son amour de la nature et de son témoignage vibrant d'une réalité américaine, Sébastien Palis a tracé les lignes d'une partition exaltante !
Papanosh a ensuite déroulé ce songbook en restant fidèle à ce qui les rapproche le plus de Harrison : la gourmandise !
Saluer les musiques folks, free, jazz, improviser à foison, raconter des histoires, dessiner des personnages et partager tout cela, comme un bon gueuleton.
Un sacré gueuleton !

Here is a new adventure for the Papanosh 5tet :
Meet Jim Harrison ; or rather the stories, characters and images he gave birth to.
Play the soundtrack of the films bubbling up in his books.
Because it is the force of that very images that strikes us, their excessiveness and their sensuality.
Through the doubts or rants of the novelist, his love of nature and his vibrant testimony of an American reality, Sébastien Palis (Hammond organ, piano, accordion and compositions) has drawn the lines of an exhilarating score !
Papanosh then unrolled this songbook, staying true to what brings them closest to Harrison : gluttony !
Greet folk, free, jazz music, improvisation in abundance, tell stories, draw characters and…. Share it all, like a feast.

Le disque Home Songs est le résultat phonographique de la création "Home" avec le saxophoniste et poète new-yorkais, Roy Nathanson (Lounge Lizards, Jazz Passengers), et le rappeur et beatboxer de Cincinnati Napoleon Maddox autour de ce sentiment si controversé de sentir chez-soi.
Le disque Oh Yeah Ho est le résultat phonographique de la création du même nom avec Roy Nathanson, et le tromboniste Fidel Fourneyron (ONJ, un Poco Loco) autour de l'univers de Charles Mingus.
"The Papanosh quintet from France were possibly the pick of [The Jerusalem Jazz Festival] in terms of pure inventiveness and entertainment value. There was ne’er a dull moment in their show, in the Israeli Art gallery, as the group members careened through all manner of genre, style and mindset. Having keyboardist Sébastien Palis alternate between piano and Hammond B-3 organ helped to keep the sonic and stylistic fulcrum pivoting nicely, and there was a delightful theatrical spot with Palis conducting saxophonist Raphael Quenehen and trumpeter Quentin Ghomari. This was go-withthe- flow music at its unfettered finest."
